Sean’s family moved to South Carolina in 1980 where he grew up and graduated from Irmo High School. After attending college at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN he returned to Columbia where he served as the Youth Minister for Palmetto Church of Christ for 17 years. During that time he married his lovely wife Emily and they have 2 sons, Patrick and Joshua. Sean has been an active part of Acts Metro for several years, serving in different areas such as the staffing team, board of directors, a mentor, Campaign chair for Vision of Empowerment and Partners in Empowerment as well as the liaison pastor for Palmetto Church of Christ. Last year he transitioned out of Youth Ministry to become a Realtor with Keller Williams Realty to spend more time working in the community through Acts Metro and Palmetto Church of Christ.
Tammie Alveshire, LMSW, is a South Carolina native who graduated Cum Laude from Columbia College with her Bachelors in Social Work and Psychology, along with a certificate of completion of the honors program. After completion of her undergraduate studies, she went on to complete her Masters in Social Work in the advanced standing program from University of South Carolina where she graduated Cum Laude. Tammie served as Assistant Operations Manager at Central Midlands Transitional Retreat for three years and walked alongside homeless veterans in transitional housing with the goal for each veteran to obtain sustainable housing, income, VA benefits, etc. Her position, included overseeing daily operations, supervision of dorm managers and case managing up to 86 veterans. Tammie began volunteering with Acts Metro in 2014 and came on board as the full time case worker in 2018. Her passion to walk along side of individuals and families drives her to work hard to empower individuals to reach their potential and become self sufficient and independent. Tammie has been married to her husband, Gary, for 21 years, and they have four children and two grandchildren. Tammie is a member of Convent Baptist Church where she volunteered in the youth ministry.
Tara Kleinschmidt received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of South Carolina where she graduated Cum Laude with an emphasis in PTSD and Micro services. She dedicates her professional life to advocacy and providing a support system for vulnerable populations in her community. Tara has served Acts Metro as Family Director since 2010 working with hundreds of individuals and families to move from despair and dependence to hope and self-sufficiency. Her passion for social work drives her to continue to grow her knowledge base of resources. Her motto is “forever a student.” Tara is passionate about advocating for under-served populations and is determined to empower her clients through self-determination. In her free time, Tara enjoys working on her home, camping, hiking, and road trips with her family and her four dogs.
